Detailed Description of Project

Engineering consultancy services were provided by Orient to prepare a comprehensive hydrological study at Zarqa Maien Wadi, Zara Wadi and Shegeg Wadi. Based on the results of the study, it should propose the best solutions to protect all facilities that are located near the wadis. The project included the following:

  • Development of the physical hydrology and additional data needed to fill in any existing data gaps
  • Development of the alternatives needed for flood protection
  • Preparation of full detailed design and tender documents for hydraulic structure
  • Conveyor Pipes flood protection

The scope included the assessment of the feasibility of implementing flood protection at the site and to present information allowing for selection of the most feasible alternative.

The project team performed a series of inter-related tasks culminating in the presentation of selected alternatives and supporting documentation, tasks included –but not limited to- the review of existing data, hydrologic investigations to refine existing data, hydrologic evaluations, engineering design work plan and the feasibility study report.
